I recently interviewed Deb Rae who is the author of Getting There: From Grief to Peace for Young Widows as part of my Authors in Conversation series at the State Library of NSW. I’m very grateful to Deb for her incredible generosity in answering the questions that the audience had for her.

I’m sharing Deb’s answer to the question “What would you do differently if you had your time over?” with you here because she really nailed it in terms of identifying some of the unnecessary delays that first-time authors are likely to put in their own way.
